Monday morning report

Jackson is safe and sound with my sister. They are thrilled to have him. On Friday night they came over before game night (which actually turned out to be hanging out and eating good food night... which was very fun), and they met Jackson. We let them know that we couldn't keep him and they were so excited about the opportunity to have him. They had been wanting to rescue a dog and they had just decided to relax and see if one would come their way. They thought something was happening with us (I was pregnant, or moving)... so when they found out they got to have a a puppy ... they were so excited. Since he is no longer ours, they wanted to name him. All of their dogs are named after Redskins greats. So, his name is now Sammy. After Sammy Bough (sp?) He was only called Jackson for a week, so I am sure he will get used to it soon. He is a smart dog. Willy (my brother in law) spent the night with us that night and we got up and ran in the morning. He is training for the marathon too. We did 18 with Wrigley. I felt really good having taken off 3 days for the quad... which held up nicely. We let Wrigley off his leash or a bit of the run... and he was very obedient and fun. That was the highlight of the run for me. 18 was LONG ... but we did it. After the run and showers, we grabbed Sammy, chipotle and headed up to Eldersburg. By the time we got there our legs had significantly turned to rock. Not so fun getting out of the car. We had all the best intentions of doing work around their house, but instead, ended up napping for a couple of hours. Sammy was having a hard time leaving my side. He was very territorial with me. But, I finally said goodbye, which actually wasn't as hard as I had expected, and went on my way. Rhonda called yesterday to say that he looked around for me for about 30 minutes and then started playing with Sonny (their dog) and the kids. They have fallen in love with him too. I am glad to hear it.... He is such a sweet dog and he deserves a good home. The first three months of his life were pretty rough, but the rest are going to be great for him. I think it will be great for Sonny too.... to have a companion. Dax and Wrigley and I relaxed all day yesterday ... we took advantage of the sabath.
